It's been way too long since our last blowg post so here is quick message from me and Mini.

We caps would like to spread some love around today, because us caps are lovable like that. We dare you to meet a capybara and not love him or her!

As the great Caplin Rous once said, "Love is a capybara." We miss you, Caplin, and wish you were still with us.

The Cap Travels - Tokyo

Hiii!I'm back from my whirlwind tour of Tokyo, Vietnam and finally, HONG KONG. It felt *great* to be back in Tokyo. The Mister and I saw all my old relatives like Uncle Joe and Grandpa Cap, and met some new additions like Cupcake Cap and Frying Pan Cap.

While we were there, there was an earthquake! We were staying on the 15th floor and there was a lot of shakin!

Here I am on the television clinging for dear life with my tiny feet. Onscreen is a report of how strong the quake was. Nobody was hurt. Phew!

Mini and the King

If you've been following us on Twitter, you'll know that Mini successfully stowed away to London last week. Mini learned how to squeak with a British accent and rode a double decker bus but sadly spent most of his time hidden in That Girl's suitcase while she was busy at her conference. Apparently conferences aren't welcoming of capybaras. Hmf!

On her last day in London, That Girl had a day off and took Mini out exploring. They went all over London and the day ended at the gigantic British Museum, home of the Rosetta Stone and many other amazing artifacts. Mini's most exciting moment was at the foot of the Assyrian King Shamshi-Adad V. The stele, or stone slab carving, comes from around 824 BC. That's almost 2800 years older than Mini! Here, the King is depicted next to the symbols of his principle gods. I wonder if one of them was a capybara?

Capy Birthday To Me, From Me.

I am kind of upset. It was my birthday on January 21st, and my owners *forgot*. How could they do this to me? Don't they love me anymore? I turned four without even knowing it! That Girl feels very bad, and she says she will get me a cake. I guess I should also mention that That Girl has been sick this past week, so maybe that's why she forgot. Don't worry, she doesn't have the piggy flu or capy flu, not there would ever be such a thing as that, but she has been sleeping a lot and there is a very large mountain of Kleenex on her side of the bed.

In other news, my friend Caplin wrote a great post about capys in my homeland! We caps are very special creatures in Japan. In the photo, it looks like Caplin is next to Mini - and maybe it is Mini. He's been missing for a week!

Capy New Year!

Capy New Year!
It's 2010! How did you ring in the new year? I was on the floor in the bedroom, forgotten! Hmf! That Girl and the Mister were in the living room with friends. But when they came to bed we got to jump around and yell "Capy New Year!"
So it's January 1st. Do you know what this means? Only 21 days until MY BIRTHDAY! I'm turning FOUR this year. Wow, I'm like, OLD! Here is a picture from when I was two. And yes, that's a Capy glass next to me. I hope this year is a good one!

Have you heard of Rodent Jeopardy? Well, if you haven't, it's just like Jeopardy but all about us Caps!! We had so much fun playing a few weeks ago, and the neatest part was talking to a real live Capybara - Caplin Rous. He's our new *hero*.

Warmth

Here's me, sleeping with The Mister. We often fall asleep like this
but somehow I always wake up on the floor. Ouch! It was -20 this
morning where we live and since The Mister is in Vancouver this week,
the bed is very cold! That Girl and I can't wait until Sunday when he
comes home.

The Mister is leaving on a business trip to Vancouver tomorrow. His suitcase is pretty full but we're still trying to sneak in! He's already thrown us out once. Hmmf!

I guess we'll stay here and keep That Girl company. It's snowng lots
where we live. Maybe we can make a snowcap!

My Favourite Book

Here I am reading my favourite book by the famous Bill Peet! Of course it's about a Capybara - we make great subjects! I was sad when Capyboppy had to go back to the zoo...but happy at the same time. He wasn't doing so well at Bill's home. As for me, I hope That Girl and the Mister keep me at their place where there are always lots of blankets to roll up in!

So after Singapore, I went to Vancouver, BC and met Shelley! Here we
are nuzzling (not kissing) in a friendly turtley capy way. Shelley's
owner is That Girl's brother. He had lots of animals for us to meet
but I think Shelly was my favorite! Turtles are nice and quiet.

Travels

Hiya!

I feel like I have so much to catch up on. But where to start? I found some old photos, maybe I’ll start with those. Yeah!

I’m lucky to be a well-travelled capybara. In the summer of 2008 in between my immigrating from Japan to Canada, The Mister took me on a trip to Singapore. Sometimes That Girl and the Mister don't take me on trips, like to Montreal or Hong Kong. But I'll blowg about that later. On this trip, I got to stay in the Shangri-La hotel. Yeah!

Well it's been three years since I wrote on my blowg. I've had so many
adventures and have even immigrated to Canada!

I've just made a new online capfriend - Caplin Rous down in Texas! He's
inspired me to write again. That girl just figured out how I can blowg
from her iPhone so I'll write more soon. In the mean time, a photo of
moi, because I know you miss me so.

I know, I've aged, haven't I. But I'm still cute! Yeah!

The First Day Alone

Well it's 9am and That Girl and the Mister left for work a while ago. I'm all by myself in this big, quiet house. The only noise I hear is a cat outside. It sounds like it's in heat. Too bad it's not a female capybara. Yeah, that'd be nice. But it's just a silly cat. Go away cat!

I'm not feeling very adventurous on my first day at home alone so I think I'll stay within the safe boundaries of the bed and just read this magazine. It could take a while, my arms are kindof short, which makes turning these thin pages very difficult.

Hallo!On this shelf lives just a fraction of my huge capybara family. We lived on the 11th floor of this unnamed department store for about nine months. A few of us were adopted but it seemed to take forever for someone to choose me! Can you spot me? I'm in the third row from the bottom, third to the left. To my right are my second cousins, Fritz and Frieda. To my left, my third cousin Morty and underneath me my great great aunt separated twice, Aunt Constantine. Hallo Family! My name is Capy (rhymes with happy) and I am a Capybara. I live in an unidentified city in Asia with two unidentified people whom I call That Girl and The Mister. They rescued me from my former home in a department store. Living space was getting tight there and although I loved being with my capybara family I am happier now that I've been adopted by That Girl and the Mister. I couldn't just leave my family in the dark about my life (I'm too darned cute) so this blowg is for them. Bye!
